Russia's War Casualty Toll Climbs To Over 1.5M Since Full-Scale Invasion Of Ukraine Begins

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in a Facebook post, Ukrinform reports.

Russia has also lost 12,338 (+6) tanks, 25,290 (+5) armored combat vehicles, 49,383 (+42) artillery systems, 2,105 (+1) multiple-launch rocket systems, 1,613 (+1) air defense systems, 441 (+0) aircraft, 355 (+0) helicopters, 2,534 (+13) ground robotic systems, 506,188 (+1,879) operational-tactical UAVs, 5,103 (+33) cruise missiles, 35 (+0) warships and boats, 2 (+0) submarines, 146,008 (+530) vehicles and fuel tanks, and 4,650 (+3) pieces of special equipment.

The figures are being updated.

The General Staff added that 1.5 million Russian troops killed and wounded represents the largest number of casualties suffered by Russian armed forces in a single war since World War II.

These figures exceed the combined losses of the Soviet and Russian military in all wars and armed conflicts of the second half of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century.

This is 100 times higher than the Soviet losses in Afghanistan over 10 years.

It is also 125 times higher than the officially acknowledged Russian losses in the First and Second Chechen Wars combined.

“Behind every recorded Russian casualty is a specific Russian invader who came to Ukrainian soil carrying a weapon, as well as the tremendous, daily joint effort of Ukraine's Defense Forces and the entire Ukrainian people,” the General Staff emphasized.
