Hockey India Inter-Department C'ship: SAI, AIPSCB, Railway Sports Promotion Board Register Wins On Day 5


(MENAFN- IANS) Hyderabad, Sep 8 (IANS) Railway Sports Promotion Board registered the biggest win of Day 5 of the 6th Hockey India Senior Men Inter-Department National Championship 2026, defeating Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) 5-1 in a Pool D encounter here on Tuesday.

Four matches were played on the fifth day of the competition, with teams from all four pools battling for crucial points as the group stage moves towards its closing phase.

Railway Sports Promotion Board dominated their Pool D clash against CISF and came away with a comprehensive victory. Sheshe Gowda Bm led the scoring with a brace, while Arshdeep Singh, Pardeep Singh and Rohit also found the back of the net to complete a five-goal effort.

Manoj Yadav scored the lone goal for CISF, but it was not enough to prevent the Railway Sports Promotion Board from securing a convincing win.

In Pool B, the Sports Authority of India (SAI) defeated Punjab & Sind Bank 3-1. Nitesh Sharma, Deepak Singh Fartyal and Patel Shivam were on target for SAI, while Singh Sukhwinder scored Punjab & Sind Bank's only goal.

The Pool A contest between Central Secretariat and Punjab National Bank ended in a 1-1 draw after both sides found the net once. Aniket Gurav scored for Central Secretariat, while Singh Gursimran registered the goal for Punjab National Bank as the two teams shared the points.

Meanwhile, the All India Police Sports Control Board (AIPSCB) secured a 3-1 victory over the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) in Pool C.

Singh Dharamvir, Vijay Kumar Gond and Singh Shamsher scored for AIPSCB, while Machaiah Pa netted CBDT's solitary goal.

The results have kept the competition finely poised across the four pools, with teams looking to strengthen their positions before the conclusion of the group stage.

The 6th Hockey India Senior Men Inter-Departmental National Championship has brought together teams representing various government departments and organisations, with the participating sides competing for supremacy in the national inter-departmental tournament.
