UK Bans Imports From Illegal Israeli Settlements
London, Sept. 8 (Petra) - British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband announced on Tuesday said the UK will ban all imported goods from illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories.
Speaking at the House of Commons, Miliband stated that the import ban, coordinated with international allies, is part of the UK's "commitment" to a two-state solution.
Criticizing the Israeli government, Miliband accused it of turning a "blind eye" to settler-led actions in the occupied West Bank, which amount to "ethnic cleansing." He added that statements and policies from certain Israeli officials have "actively encouraged" the forced displacement of Palestinians.
