Russia Plans To Mobilize Additional 300,000 People After Elections Zelensky

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said this while speaking to journalists, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"Russia will now communicate that there is no mobilization. They need to calm society down. They don't want to show mobilization or frighten anyone with anything because elections to the Duma are underway in Russia," Zelensky said.

The Ukrainian side believes that mobilization measures could begin in Russia after the elections. However, it is not yet known whether this will be a "covert or open mobilization."

"We understand the figure: at least 300,000 additional Russian soldiers – that is what they are counting on," Zelensky said.

He added that Russia's infrastructure was already prepared for mobilization.

"The fact that this is difficult for them is a fact. Everyone understands that it is costly. This is a new reality for Russia. And we will see it very soon," he said.

He also said that Russia was trying to compensate for its failures on the battlefield with intensive air strikes against Ukraine.

"They are not succeeding on the battlefield. Where can they demonstrate their strikes? Only in the air. This is where they have strength. That is also a fact. We have to acknowledge it," Zelensky said.

He stressed that the Russian authorities use such strikes to demonstrate their strength to their own population.

"In this way, they show that, supposedly, everything is calm inside Russia, there is no mobilization, they are in control, everything is fine, while in Ukraine, on the contrary, they show constant, intensive strikes, supposedly demonstrating how strong they are," Zelensky said.

At the same time, the terrorist state uses outright lies in its communication with the population about the results of its so-called "special military operation."

"They are failing on the battlefield, and the lies they constantly spread are proof of that. Recently, they lied again, claiming that they had occupied our city of Sviatohirsk. Our guys were there and showed that they fully controlled the city. They also lied about the city of Sumy and how far they were from the city. An absolute lie," he added.

According to Zelensky, changes in Russia's rhetoric could be seen after the elections, which are due to end in late September.

"At the end of September, when the elections are over, we will see a new dynamic in their rhetoric," he said.
