Lebanon: 19 Killed in Latest Israeli Strikes, Toll Nears 9,000

(MENAFN) At least 19 people were killed and 24 others wounded in Israeli attacks on Lebanon over the past 24 hours, the Lebanese Health Ministry reported Monday.

According to the ministry's statement, the death toll from Israeli strikes since March 2 has climbed to 4,381, with 12,402 people injured as of Monday.

Factoring in the latest casualties, the cumulative toll from Israeli attacks on Lebanon since Oct. 8, 2023, now stands at 8,948 dead and 30,638 wounded, the statement said.

The strikes continue despite a US-brokered agreement signed in June, which calls for Israel to gradually withdraw from Lebanese territory as the Lebanese army takes over those areas. Israeli forces, however, remain in parts of southern Lebanon — some held for decades and others seized during the 2023–2024 war — and have expanded the occupied territory amid their ongoing offensive.
