Israeli Attacks Kill Hundreds of Children Across Lebanon

(MENAFN) Nearly 800 children are killed and approximately 360,000 people are forced from their homes during almost three years of Israeli attacks on Lebanon, prompting strong criticism from Lebanese officials and child rights organizations.

The violence continues to affect children, with two children killed and four others wounded in an Israeli airstrike targeting a home in Kfar Rumman, in southern Lebanon’s Nabatieh district, over the past 24 hours.

Three additional children sustain injuries in Israeli strikes on Arabsalim and the city of Nabatieh.

The latest attacks take place despite a framework agreement reached under US sponsorship on June 26. The deal calls for Israel to gradually withdraw its forces from Lebanese territory while the Lebanese army deploys in the areas.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemns the latest strikes, saying they represent “a dangerous escalation that goes beyond the repeated violations of the cessation-of-hostilities agreement and the framework agreement.”

Aoun places full responsibility for the continued escalation on Israel and urges the United States and the wider international community to intervene immediately to stop the violations and ensure those responsible are held accountable.
