Israeli Forces Impose Curfew, Raid Camps Across West Bank
(MENAFN) The Israeli army placed Palestinians under curfew Monday during a raid on the Shuafat refugee camp and the nearby town of Anata, near occupied East Jerusalem, as Israeli occupiers carried out a wave of attacks across other parts of the occupied West Bank.
Military vehicles and bulldozers rolled into Shuafat and Anata backed by a heavy troop presence, the Jerusalem Governorate said in a statement. Loudspeakers announced the curfew in both areas.
The army later confirmed it had launched what it described as a "focused" operation in Shuafat and Anata, declining to say how long it would last. Officials claimed the raid targeted "terrorist activity" and related infrastructure, though no supporting evidence was offered.
Further attacks unfolded elsewhere in the West Bank, striking Palestinians and their property in Ramallah, Hebron and Salfit, according to Palestine's official news agency, state-run Voice of Palestine radio, and witnesses on the ground.
In Burqa, east of Ramallah, occupiers entered the village and moved through its streets, while others pitched a tent on Mount Al-Qarana in nearby Deir Abu Mashal, northwest of the city, WAFA reported. West of Al-Mughayyir village, northeast of Ramallah, occupiers were seen hauling timber toward illegal settlement outposts — a development that has stoked Palestinian fears of further land seizures.
In Hebron, an Israeli occupier attacked a vehicle driven by a Palestinian woman, smashing its windows, Voice of Palestine said.
South of Yatta, occupiers rebuilt an illegal settlement outpost in Wadi al-Rakhim just hours after Israeli forces themselves had dismantled it, local activist Osama Makhamra told Anadolu. Makhamra added that Israeli forces also raided Khirbet Imneizil, southeast of Yatta, breaking into a Palestinian home and damaging property inside.
In Salfit, in the northern West Bank, occupiers pressed on for an 11th straight day razing Palestinian land northwest of Deir Ballut, the news agency reported.
The Palestinian Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission recorded 3,488 such attacks by Israeli occupiers across the West Bank in the first half of 2026.
