73 Wounded as Houthi Strikes Hit Southern Saudi Cities
(MENAFN) At least 73 civilians were injured Tuesday after Yemen's Houthi group launched attacks on cities and economic infrastructure in southern Saudi Arabia, the Saudi-led military coalition reported.
Coalition spokesperson Major General Turki al-Maliki said the Houthis carried out "senseless attacks" against civilian and commercial sites in the cities of Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan and Najran. He described the strikes — which left civilians, including women and children, wounded — as a "dangerous escalation" and a "blatant violation" of Saudi Arabia's sovereignty.
Al-Maliki accused the group of deliberate "extremist and criminal behavior" that threatens peace and stability in Yemen and across neighboring Arab states. He affirmed that the coalition's Joint Forces Command would deploy "all necessary operational measures" to deter further hostile attacks and protect Saudi citizens.
The coalition further pledged to "take all necessary measures" to neutralize the sources of the threat.
