Israeli Attacks Kill Dozens in Lebanon Over Past Day
(MENAFN) Israeli attacks on Lebanon kill at least 19 people and leave another 24 injured over the past 24 hours, according to figures released by the Lebanese Health Ministry on Monday.
The ministry says the number of people killed in Israeli attacks since March 2 has risen to 4,381, while the number of injured reaches 12,402.
The latest casualties also push the overall toll from Israeli attacks on Lebanon since Oct. 8, 2023 to 8,948 deaths and 30,638 injuries, according to the ministry.
Israeli forces continue to carry out airstrikes in several parts of southern Lebanon despite a US-brokered agreement signed in June.
Under the agreement, Israeli forces are expected to gradually withdraw from Lebanese territory as the Lebanese army deploys in the areas being vacated.
However, Israel continues to maintain control over parts of southern Lebanon. Some of these areas have been occupied for decades, while others were seized during the 2023–2024 war. The territory under Israeli control has also expanded during the current offensive.
