Israeli Forces Beat Five Palestinians, Injuring Them in West Bank
(MENAFN) Five Palestinians were injured Monday after Israeli soldiers allegedly assaulted and beat them in two separate locations across the occupied northern West Bank.
Two Palestinians were taken to a hospital after being “assaulted and beaten by occupation forces” in Anabta, in the Tulkarem area, according to Palestinian medical responders.
In a separate incident, three Palestinians from Burqa in the Nablus area were also transported to a hospital after reportedly being beaten by Israeli forces.
Meanwhile, Israeli soldiers fired tear gas toward Palestinians near the Ein Sinya military checkpoint, north of Ramallah in the central West Bank.
Movement through the checkpoint was reportedly restricted, with vehicles held up and significant traffic congestion developing before tear gas was fired. No injuries were reported in that incident.
In another development, an Israeli court rejected appeals seeking to prevent the demolition of residential and agricultural structures in the northern Jordan Valley.
Mutaz Bisharat, an official monitoring Israeli settlement activity in Tubas province, said appeals had been submitted to stop the destruction of buildings belonging to eight Palestinians.
“The occupation rejected the appeals submitted to halt the demolition of residential and agricultural structures belonging to eight citizens in the northern Jordan Valley,” Bisharat said.
He accused Israel of “racing against time to carry out the largest possible demolition operations in the Jordan Valley as part of a systematic policy to uproot citizens from their lands.”
Israeli military operations and attacks by Israeli settlers against Palestinians and their property have increased throughout the occupied West Bank since the outbreak of Israel’s war in Gaza in October 2023, raising continued concerns about escalating violence and its wider consequences.
