Drones Attack Saratov Oil Refinery In Russia Overnight


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Ukrinform reports this, citing ASTRA on Telegram.

Residents of Saratov and the surrounding region reported explosions and a fire overnight. At 3:30 a.m., Governor Roman Busargin warned of a drone threat.

An hour later, Busargin confirmed that the attack had caused“damage to civilian infrastructure” and that there were also casualties. An OSINT analysis by ASTRA showed that the drones had targeted PJSC Saratov Oil Refinery.

The Saratov Oil Refinery is one of Russia' oldest oil-refining enterprises, having been founded in 1934. The refinery came under the management of the Russian state-owned oil company Rosneft in 2013. As of 2023, its oil-processing volume amounted to 4.8 million tonnes.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, the Defense Forces struck oil refinerie in three Russian regions, as well as a storage and launch site for attack drones in Kursk region.
