National Women's Volleyball Team Takes Silver At West Asian Championship
Amman, Sept. 8 (Petra) -- The national women's volleyball team secured the silver medal at the third West Asian Women's Volleyball Championship after closing its campaign with a straight-sets victory over Iraq in Amman.
The national side defeated Iraq 3-0, taking the sets 25-16, 25-21 and 25-21 to finish the tournament with two wins, including an earlier victory over Qatar.
Lebanon was crowned champion after completing the tournament with a perfect record, defeating Iraq, Jordan and Qatar. The Lebanese team wrapped up its campaign with a 3-0 win over Qatar, 26-6, 25-18 and 25-19.
Iraq finished third with one victory, against Qatar, while Qatar placed fourth.
Her Royal Highness Princess Ayah bint Faisal, President of the Jordan Volleyball Federation, presented the medals to the top three teams at the conclusion of the championship Monday evening.
