Houthi Attacks Wound Dozens of Civilians in Southern Saudi Arabia
(MENAFN) Houthi attacks on civilian and commercial areas in southern Saudi Arabia have left dozens of people injured, including women and children.
Coalition spokesperson Major General Turki al-Maliki said the group carried out what he described as "senseless attacks" targeting civilian and commercial facilities in Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan and Najran.
He described the attacks as a "dangerous escalation" and a "blatant violation" of Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty, stressing that civilians were among those wounded.
Al-Maliki accused the Houthis of engaging in deliberate "extremist and criminal behavior," saying such actions threaten efforts to promote peace and stability in Yemen and across neighboring Arab countries.
He said the Joint Forces Command of the Coalition would adopt "all necessary operational measures" to prevent further attacks and safeguard Saudi citizens.
The coalition also pledged to "take all necessary measures" to eliminate the sources of the threat and respond to further hostile activity.
