Opening day featured 24 2km rounds in the Open Haqayeq category for the sheikhs, with 13 rounds for Bakkar (female) and 11 for Qa'dan (male).
Dajjah, owned by HE Sheikh Saud bin Ali bin Abdulaziz al-Thani, won the main Bakkar round in 2:52.41 minutes.
Al Fasil, owned by HE Sheikh Jassim bin Abdulrahman bin Saud al-Thani, claimed the main Qa'dan round in 2:55.20 minutes.
Shaheen, owned by HE Sheikh Saud bin Faisal bin Muhammad al-Thani, posted the day's best time at 2:51.39 minutes in the fourth round.
