He noted that Ukraine wants to use September and October to resume the diplomatic process. Thus, the UN General Assembly in New York, scheduled to take place in late September, could be the venue for further talks between Ukraine and the United States.
“We have September and October to find any way to talk. Without dialogue... we will not achieve a result. I believe that President Trump will be able to find a way to truly launch the negotiating process before the cold winter arrives,” Zelensky said.
At the same time, he stressed that Ukraine would have to remain militarily strong throughout the diplomatic process. He added that Ukraine is currently in a better position on the battlefield than it was previously, despite a shortage of air-defense systems and continued Russian missile and drone attacks.
