AED 140 million in savings, 78% lower emissions and 90% resident pride demonstrate a decade of measurable impact -pDubai, UAE – September 2026: SEE Holding is marking ten years of The Sustainable City at AIM Congress 2026, drawing on a decade of operational evidence to demonstrate the environmental, social and economic value sustainable urban development can create, and how those insights are shaping the next generation of cities.

Since welcoming its residents in 2016, The Sustainable City in Dubai has evolved into a fully operational community and a real-world model for sustainable living. Over the past decade, it has generated measurable results across energy, emissions, water, food production, waste, mobility, economic value and community wellbeing.

During this period, the community delivered an estimated AED 140 million in savings to residents through lower utility costs, integrated solar generation, and service and maintenance efficiencies. Its environmental performance includes a 78% lower carbon footprint compared with the UAE average, 48% less waste generated per resident than the national average, and 42% lower water consumption than the Dubai average.

The impact extends beyond environmental and economic performance. According to the latest resident survey, 90% of residents feel proud to live in the community, 90% exercise weekly, and 89% spend at least 30 minutes outdoors each day-demonstrating the relationship between sustainable urban design, wellbeing and quality of life.

These results provide a body of operational knowledge demonstrating how environmental performance, quality of life and economic value can be integrated within a single urban system. They also provide the foundation for SEE Holding's next generation of sustainable cities.

The next-generation model builds on the experience of The Sustainable City while responding to the changing demands of urban life. It brings artificial intelligence into homes, infrastructure, mobility and services to improve efficiency, anticipate needs and enable cities to operate as more responsive and connected environments.

It also advances greater resource independence, with communities designed to produce and manage more of their essential energy, water and food requirements. Net-zero-ready infrastructure, circular resource systems, low-carbon mobility and nature-positive planning are combined with an increased focus on health, longevity, education, research and entrepreneurship.

SEE Holding's participation at AIM Congress 2026 contributes to a wider global discussion on the role of cities in unlocking sustainable and inclusive economic growth. The Congress brings together policymakers, investors, innovators and business leaders under the theme,“Reshaping Global Prosperity: Unlocking New Investment Pathways Towards a Sustainable and Inclusive Future.”

The milestone reflects the growing importance of measurable performance in attracting long-term investment into sustainable urban development. By connecting a decade of operational results with a clear direction for the future, SEE Holding is demonstrating how proven models can be adapted, financed and scaled across different markets.
