Ramiro Prudencio Has Left Mckinsey, Where He Led Comms For Six Years
(MENAFN- PRovoke)
LONDON-Ramiro Prudencio has left his role as partner and global director of communications and marketing at management consulting giant McKinsey & Co. after more than six years in the role.
Prudencio joined McKinsey in April 2020 after spending more than 25 years at Burson and its predecessor firms Burson-Marsteller and BCW in a variety of roles including managing director of the agency's Chile and Brazil operations; president and CEO of Latin America; chief executive officer for Europe the Middle East & Africa; and executive vice president, global public affairs and reputation.
He joined during troubled times for the company, when it was being investigated by the Zondo Commission in South Africa amid charges of fraud and corporate capture under the Zuma administration. He was later responsible for handling the fallout from the book“When McKinsey Comes to Town” by New York Times reporters Walt Bogdanich and Michael Forsythe, which claimed that the company's advice often led to severe job cut and reduced safety spending to boost short-term profits and stock prices.
He also managed communications around the departure of global managing partner Kevin Sneader in 2021-the first leader of the firm in decades to not be re-elected-and handled McKinsey's exit from Russia after the invasion of Ukraine during an eventful tenure at the company.
His role evolved from communications to include responsibility for marketing and the firm's master brand, including the firm's“What's Your Next Brilliant Move?” repositioning campaign.
Prudencio departed his role earlier this year-partner and global director of corporate communications DJ Carella also left to become chief communications officer at Arnold Ventures-and McKinsey has not named a direct replacement, with the communications function being restructured.
Max Gleischmann, another six-year veteran of the firm, is now partner and global head of strategic communications. Raju Narisetti serves as partner for media, publishing and marketing transformation, responsible for the company's thought leadership s\activities.
