Irbid, Sept. 7 (Petra) -- Irbid Chamber of Industry (ICI) Director General Nidal Al-Sadr met Monday with an Indonesian delegation led by Ahmad Fauzi, labor attaché at the Ministry of Protection of Migrant Workers, to discuss economic and industrial cooperation between Jordan and Indonesia.

The two sides tackled investment opportunities and the needs of Jordanian industrial facilities for skilled labor, the ICI said in a statement.

Al-Sadr stressed that labor recruitment procedures must comply with Jordanian legislation and Labor Ministry standards to meet employers' needs and protect workers' rights and obligations.

Fauzi said Indonesian workers undergo vocational training programs at home and are tested professionally before starting work, to ensure they hold the required skills.

The Indonesian team said it was interested in visiting industrial facilities in Al-Hassan Industrial Estate to observe factory operations across sectors, including food processing and garment manufacturing, and learn about their labor needs and workplace conditions and rights.
