Workshop On 'Water Auditor' Profession Concludes
Amman, Sept. 7 (Petra) -- A workshop to update Jordan's national occupational standard for the 'water auditor' profession was wrapped up on Monday, with a focus on competencies and skills required for the profession under approved standards.
The workshop was organized by the Ministry of Water and Irrigation's Strategic Planning Department, through the Water Demand Management Directorate, in cooperation with the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Higher Education Institutions, with support and funding from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
Participants reviewed and updated the occupational standard for water auditors and identified the tasks, competencies, and skills required for the profession, the ministry said in a statement.
It said the workshop is part of broader efforts to institutionalize water auditing and build specialized national capacity in improving water-use efficiency and reducing consumption.
The initiative is intended to help prepare qualified staff capable of carrying out water audits in accordance with approved professional standards, said the ministry.
