Prince Feisal: Jordan Ready To Host Asian Karate Championship
Amman, Sept. 7 (Petra) -- HRH Prince Feisal Al Hussein, president of the Jordan Olympic Committee (JOC), on Monday welcomed World Karate Federation (WKF) President Antonio Espinós, Asian Karate Federation President Maj. Gen. Nasser Alrazooqi and Arab and West Asian Karate Federations President Ibrahim Al Gannas.
Prince Feisal said he was proud that Jordan is hosting the 24th Asian Youth, Junior and Under-21 Karate Championship, adding that the JOC is committed to mobilizing all resources to ensure the continental tournament's success and reflect Jordan's standing in sports.
The meeting addressed final preparations for the championship, which opens Tuesday at the Arena Hall in Al Hussein Youth City, along with ways to strengthen cooperation with the international, Asian and Arab federations to develop karate and expand its practice base.
The federation heads thanked Jordan for hosting the event, hailing the organizational efforts and facilities in place and stressing the tournament's importance in advancing karate, both regionally and internationally.
