Ukraine Capable Of Striking 2,000 Kilometers Deep Inside Russia - Ivashchenko

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Oleh Ivashchenko, Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (HUR), said this in an interview with Ukrinform.

“Wars are waged by states. Wars are not fought by armies only -the entire Ukrainian people are fighting for their independence, sovereignty, and future. The front line, of course, remains decisive. But modern warfare does not end twenty or one hundred kilometers from it. We are now significantly degrading and reducing the military and economic potential of the Russian Federation. We are capable of carrying out strikes more than 2,000 kilometers deep inside Russia,” Ivashchenko said.

He added that such strikes force the enemy to halt production, change its logistics, redeploy air-defense systems, and spend additional resources.

According to the HUR chief, Ukraine's strikes are contributing to Russia's growing budget deficit, which currently stands at $82 billion.

As previously reported, Can Kasapoğlu, a senior fellow at Hudson Institute, said that Ukraine's long-range strike system has not only military but also psychological significance, as it brings the consequences of the war directly to Russian territory and undermines the Kremlin's narrative that life there continues as usual.
