Russia May Have Sufficient Resources To Continue The War In 2027 And 2028 -- HUR Chief
“Russia is economically much weaker today than it was at the beginning of the full-scale war. The main problems facing the Russian economy are a shortage of labor, a growing federal budget deficit, and a worsening situation in the banking system. At the same time, it still has sufficient resources to wage war against Ukraine. We cannot rule out the possibility that these resources will be enough for both 2027 and 2028,” Ivashchenko said.
According to him, ensuring that Russia runs out of these resources requires joint work with international partners on effective economic sanctions.
“Sanctions must actually work. We know which countries supply the Russian Federation with electronic components, machine tools, and specialty chemicals. Many shell companies are emerging that bring goods into Russia that are subsequently used by its war machine against us,” Ivashchenko said.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, Ukraine expects international partners to synchronize sanctions against identified Russian ballistic-missile manufacturers and strengthen export controls on foreign components.
