Marjorie Taylor Greene Slams US Leaders Over Gaza Silence
(MENAFN) Former US Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene lashed out at government officials Sunday, blasting their continued approval of military and financial backing for Israel while accusing Christian churches of staying silent over the deaths and permanent injuries of countless children in Gaza amid Israel's genocidal war.
"Tens of thousands of children killed and many more injured for life with amputations and orphaned. Yet America's elected government leaders keep sending money and military support. The American Christian church is largely silent. On that day, I don't think that will go well," she wrote in a post on X.
Greene offered no further explanation of what she meant by "that day." The phrase may allude to Judgment Day, a pivotal eschatological concept in Abrahamic religions in which God weighs humanity's deeds, rewarding the righteous and punishing the unrighteous — suggesting that silence in the face of widespread harm to children could carry grave spiritual consequences.
Israel launched its genocidal war on the Gaza Strip in October 2023. Since then, more than 73,000 Palestinians have been killed and over 174,000 injured, the majority of them women and children, according to Palestinian figures.
Despite a ceasefire agreement that has been in effect in Gaza since Oct. 10, 2025, Israel has continued to violate its terms, resulting in the deaths of 1,344 Palestinians and injuries to 4,464 others, according to the latest figures from Gaza's Health Ministry.
