Russia Reports Two Dead, Seven Wounded in Overnight Ukrainian Attacks


(MENAFN) At least two people were killed and seven others wounded in Russia on Monday as Russian and Ukrainian forces exchanged overnight strikes, according to Russian authorities.
In the Perm region, a large-scale Ukrainian drone assault left one person dead and four others wounded, while also damaging an apartment building, according to regional officials.
In Sevastopol in Crimea, a Ukrainian drone strike killed another person and wounded three others. Local authorities said the drone was carrying explosives and metal fragments.
Russia’s Defense Ministry said its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 306 Ukrainian drones over Russian territory, Crimea and the waters of the Azov and Black seas.
On the Ukrainian side, the Air Force reported that its defenses had intercepted 71 Russian drones during the overnight attacks.
In Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region, Russian drones hit a shopping center, sparking a fire but causing no reported casualties. Emergency crews extinguished six separate fires covering around 700 square meters, while 40 rescuers were deployed at the site.
The casualty and damage claims made by both sides could not be independently confirmed amid the continuing war.
