PM Due In China Today For Talks
HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani begins a two-day visit to China today for talks with senior Chinese officials on strategic relations, expanded economic and investment co-operation, and efforts to de-escalate regional tensions.
Advisor to the Prime Minister and Spokesperson for Ministry of Foreign Affairs HE Dr Majed al-Ansari said in a statement to Qatar News Agency that the prime minister will hold a series of meetings during the September 7-8 visit to discuss ways to strengthen and develop ties across various fields, and to widen economic and investment co-operation in a way that serves the shared interests of the two countries.
He added that the meetings will also take up major regional developments and diplomatic efforts to enhance security and stability in the region, and will emphasise the need to ensure the security and freedom of international navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
