Industry Minister, Giza Governor Review Regularization Of Jerza, Arab Abu Saed Industrial Zones
The meeting covered the status of regularization files, detailed plans for the two zones, land-use and usufruct fees, as well as investors' requests to extend payment periods and introduce discounts for cash payments.
Discussions also addressed licensing procedures, urban boundaries, the Jerza Bridge, and the expansion of gas, electricity, road, and other infrastructure services.
Hashem highlighted the government's efforts to simplify regularization procedures and enable investors to continue operating.
He said completing the regularization process would support the development of both areas into integrated industrial zones with infrastructure, services, and organised activities.
He also called for the swift formation of a board of trustees representing investors in the two zones to coordinate their efforts, receive proposals, contribute to maintenance and improvement activities, and support sustainability measures.
El-Ansary said Giza Governorate is working with relevant state agencies to provide a stable environment for manufacturers and attract investment.
He directed officials to reassess regularization fees to address investors' concerns regarding existing activities while maintaining fair pricing for new activities.
The governor also instructed officials to identify factories facing delays in paying usufruct fees and examine additional payment facilities.
He noted that factories should be allowed to continue operating until their regularization files are completed, with the necessary operating letters continuing to be issued to support production and exports.
El-Ansary added that the governorate plans to deliver a new batch of regularization contracts to eligible investors in Arab Abu Saed at the next board meeting.
