Israeli Airstrikes Kill Four, Injure Twenty in Southern Lebanon
(MENAFN) At least four people were killed and 20 others wounded in a series of Israeli airstrikes across southern Lebanon on Sunday morning, according to reports, despite an existing US-brokered framework agreement and continued calls to respect its terms.
Lebanon’s Health Ministry said two people were killed and two others injured in Nabatieh al-Fawqa. Another eight people, including a woman and a girl, sustained injuries in the Al-Rahibat neighborhood of Nabatieh.
In Arab Salim, two women were killed and six others, among them two girls, were wounded. Four women were also injured in Kfar Remman, according to the ministry.
One of the strikes targeted a house in Arab Salim, killing two women and injuring six people who were transported to hospitals in Nabatieh by emergency responders. A second residence in the same town was also hit and completely destroyed, according to reports.
Israeli aircraft carried out multiple strikes against locations across southern Lebanon beginning early Sunday, with several areas coming under attack.
Among the reported targets was the residence of Ali Moallem, the former mayor of Kfar Remman, located near the town’s industrial zone in Nabatieh district. The strike left several people injured, according to reports.
