Landslide Kills Two, Leaves Ten Missing in Eastern China
(MENAFN) At least two people have died and 10 others remain unaccounted for after a mudslide and landslide hit Jiangxi province in eastern China, according to reports.
The disaster occurred Saturday in Ji’an city following several days of heavy rainfall brought by Typhoon Saudel. It is the latest in a series of landslide-related incidents reported in the country in recent months.
Rescue teams searching the affected area recovered the body of one person who had been reported missing. The victim was found inside a house that collapsed in Mingkeng village, located in Gaoping town, according to reports.
Search and rescue operations are continuing as authorities work to locate the remaining missing people and assess the impact of the disaster.
