Israeli Shelling Damages Lebanon Finance Ministry Building In Nabatieh
Beirut, Sept. 6 (Petra) -- The Lebanese Ministry of Finance said Sunday that its building in Nabatieh, southern Lebanon, was damaged by Israeli shelling, with nearby government offices and dozens of shops and cafes also sustaining damage.
In a statement, the ministry said Finance Minister Yassine Jaber directed that necessary measures be taken to protect files and documents and ensure continuity of operations.
The statement said the strike caused significant damage to the regional finance and agricultural departments, both located in a building adjacent to the targeted site. Offices were damaged, while windows and doors were shattered and files and papers scattered throughout the premises.
Dozens of shops and cafes surrounding the site of the strike were also damaged, it added.
