Israeli Forces Storm West Bank Village, Detain Palestinians
(MENAFN) Israeli troops stormed the village of Al-Mughayyir in the central occupied West Bank on Saturday, detaining several young Palestinian men, while separately, Israeli occupiers made off with water tanks in the northern Jordan Valley, according to local sources.
Sources told media that Israeli forces moved into Al-Mughayyir to shield occupier shepherds who had congregated near Palestinian homes on the village's western edge.
The detained men were seized in their vehicle and transported to the nearby Shaab al-Louz area, west of the village, where soldiers forced them to clear a secondary road that had previously been sealed off, sources said.
Israeli forces also swept through the village of Arura, northwest of Ramallah, along with Abwein, Jiljilya and Ajjul to the north of the city, though no detentions were reported in those raids.
In a separate incident Saturday evening, Israeli occupiers stole iron and plastic tanks and barrels that Palestinians rely on to store water for their livestock in the northern Jordan Valley, local sources said.
An estimated 750,000 Israeli occupiers currently live across 194 illegal settlements and 400 outposts scattered throughout the occupied West Bank, including occupied East Jerusalem — populations that carry out near-daily attacks aimed at driving Palestinians off their own land.
Since Israel launched its war on the Gaza Strip on Oct. 8, 2023, the occupied West Bank has been gripped by a relentless pattern of army raids and settler violence.
