Dutch Cities Fly Kites in Solidarity With Gaza's Children

(MENAFN) Kites soared over 11 cities across the Netherlands on Saturday in a coordinated show of solidarity with children in Gaza.

Organized by the Plant an Olive Tree Foundation, the events aimed to spotlight ongoing attacks on Gaza while protesting Israeli threats of displacement and retaliatory strikes against Palestinians over kites flown from the enclave that had drifted into Israeli settlements near the border.

In Rotterdam, participants gathered at Noordereiland Square, launching kites into the sky as a gesture of solidarity with Gaza's youngest residents.

Both children and adults decorated their kites with Palestinian flags and colors, along with handwritten messages reading "Free Palestine" and "Save Gaza." Several kites were crafted entirely in the shape and colors of the Palestinian flag, adding a visual centerpiece to the demonstration.

As the event drew to a close, organizers distributed leaflets to passersby, aiming to raise public awareness and share information about the ongoing situation in Gaza.
