Israeli Forces Fire Leaves 7 Palestinians Hurt in Gaza
(MENAFN) Seven Palestinians — among them two children — were wounded by Israeli military fire across the Gaza Strip on Saturday, marking the latest in a string of daily breaches of the ceasefire that has held since last October.
Medical sources told media that two Palestinians were struck when Israeli naval forces opened fire on tents housing displaced families in the Al-Khalidi area of northwestern Gaza.
The same sources reported that a Palestinian child suffered moderate injuries after Israeli forces fired on displacement camps in the nearby Al-Sudaniya area, also in the northwest of the territory.
Further east, in Gaza City, local sources and witnesses said Israeli quadcopter drones dropped explosives on homes near Mushtaha Street and the Shujaiya market. No injuries were reported from that incident.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said its crews evacuated three wounded people after an Israeli airstrike hit an empty building in the Tuffah neighborhood, in the city's east. A medical source at Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital said a child was also brought in with minor shrapnel injuries stemming from the same strike.
Witnesses and local sources told media that an Israeli warplane launched a heavy strike on a building near the Al-Sanafour junction on Salah al-Din Street, close to the so-called "yellow line." Israeli artillery shelling then hit the surrounding area, the sources said.
Further south, Israeli artillery shelled areas northwest of Rafah, while military vehicles opened heavy fire on areas south of Khan Younis, local sources reported. Witnesses also said Israeli naval vessels fired toward the Khan Younis coastline.
The "yellow line" designates where Israeli forces are permitted to be stationed inside Gaza under the ceasefire deal, though Israel has since pushed its zone of control to cover an estimated 70% of the enclave.
According to the latest tally from Gaza's Health Ministry, ceasefire violations by Israeli forces since the truce took hold in October 2025 have killed 1,344 Palestinians and wounded 4,464 more as of Saturday.
The ministry also reports that the broader war, underway since October 2023, has killed at least 73,651 Palestinians and injured 174,575 others.
