Kushner, for his part, greeted Putin by saying "happy holiday" in Russian, referring to Moscow's City Day, which was celebrated on Saturday.

The Kremlin leader assured the U.S. envoys that Russia had not carried out any strikes on Kyiv since midnight on Saturday. At the same time, Russian attacks on other regions of Ukraine continued.
Russia is reportedly insisting on territorial claims that Ukraine has rejected.
Witkoff and Kushner are expected to arrive in Kyiv on Sunday for their first talks with President Volodymyr Zelensky. According to Zelensky, Ukraine is prepared to refrain from strikes on Moscow until the end of Monday and expects Russia to likewise refrain from striking Kyiv.
