Value Of Certificates Of Origin Reaches JD1.031B In First 8 Months -ACC

(MENAFN- Jordan Times) AMMAN - The value of certificates of origin issued by the Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) reached JD1.031 billion during the first eight months of 2026, marking a 20.7 per cent increase compared with JD854 million recorded in the same period of 2025.

According to statistical data released by the chamber and cited by Al Mamlaka TV on Saturday, the number of certificates issued through August 2026 rose by 12.9 per cent to 30,154 certificates, up from 26,715 during the corresponding period last year.

Iraq topped the list of export destinations by value, importing goods worth JD415 million covered by 1,912 certificates, followed by Switzerland at JD102 million (26 certificates), the United Arab Emirates at JD78 million (6,152 certificates), Saudi Arabia at JD72 million (5,673 certificates), and Egypt at JD54 million (732 certificates).

Re-exported foreign products accounted for the largest share of total exports at JD493 million, followed by agricultural products at JD153 million, industrial goods at JD119 million, and Arab-origin products at JD118 million, with the remainder comprising various other commodities.

A certificate of origin is an official international trade document certifying that products in a shipment were produced, manufactured, or processed in a specific country.

Customs authorities utilise these certificates to assess tariffs, verify origin, and determine product eligibility.

The ACC issues certificates of origin for Jordanian agricultural, livestock, and raw natural resource products, foreign re-exports, and foreign goods purchased locally under specific regulatory conditions.

It also issues certificates for Jordanian industrial products upon the exporter's request, based on certified factory invoices and industrial chamber documentation in accordance with Article 29 of the 2009 Jordan Chambers of Commerce Bylaw and the 2013 Certificate of Origin Instructions.
