TCS Commits ₹700 Billion To Hyderabad AI Campus Arabian Post

(MENAFN- The Arabian Post) clearfix">Tata Consultancy Services has committed with partners to invest up to ₹700 billion in a one-gigawatt artificial intelligence data centre campus in Hyderabad, marking one of the largest planned AI infrastructure projects in the country.

The project will be developed by TCS subsidiary HyperVault AI Data Center Limited on 264 acres secured in Hyderabad, Telangana. TCS said the campus would be built in phases, with the pace of development tied to customer demand and changing technology requirements.

At full scale, the site is designed to support high-density graphics processing unit deployments used for training and running AI models, as well as other compute-intensive workloads. The company said the campus would serve frontier AI companies, hyperscalers and large enterprises requiring computing capacity.

<p>TCS said HyperVault and its partners would invest up to ₹70,000 crore in developing and operating the infrastructure. The planned one-gigawatt capacity would place the Hyderabad campus among the country's largest AI-focused data centre developments if fully built.</p><p>The announcement advances TCS's strategy to establish more than one gigawatt of AI-ready data centre capacity across key locations. HyperVault was created as a dedicated infrastructure business to build large-scale facilities capable of supporting power-intensive AI computing.</p><p>TCS has said the platform will use direct-to-chip liquid cooling, high-density rack configurations, resilient power systems and high-speed fibre connectivity. The company also describes the infrastructure as green by design, with plans to use energy and improve water efficiency as the network expands.</p><p>The Hyderabad project follows a strategic partnership between TCS and alternative asset manager TPG announced in November 2025. The structure was intended to reduce TCS's direct capital burden while giving the data centre platform access to additional funding and expertise in areas including energy, technology and real estate.</p><p>Demand for AI-ready capacity has accelerated as companies deploy larger models that require clusters of specialised processors, advanced cooling and reliable power. TCS has said customer discussions have moved from exploratory talks into design alignment, security frameworks, site due diligence and commercial structuring, with anchor workloads commonly ranging from 100 megawatts to 200 megawatts.</p><p>OpenAI became an early announced customer of the HyperVault platform this year under a broader partnership with Tata Group. TCS agreed to develop an initial 100 megawatts of AI infrastructure capacity for OpenAI, with an option to scale that arrangement to as much as one gigawatt.</p><p>The Hyderabad campus is planned at Bharat Future City, a large development on the southern outskirts of Hyderabad being promoted by Telangana's government as a technology and industrial hub. Planning documents for the project include dedicated zones for data centres, artificial intelligence, life sciences, advanced manufacturing, education and residential development.</p><p>Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy described the TCS investment as an addition to the state's technology infrastructure plans. State officials have been seeking large data centre projects for Bharat Future City as part of a broader effort to attract cloud, AI and advanced computing investment.</p><p>Amazon Web Services has also begun work on a hyperscale data centre at Bharat Future City after receiving land for the project.
