That changes with version 3.0, released today, which brings the crawler natively to macOS, covering both Apple Silicon and Intel, and to Linux through AppImage, deb, and rpm packages. The installer is roughly 169 megabytes and opens straight to a working demo with no account required. The restriction had been a real barrier for agencies and in house teams running mixed environments, and removing it was the headline goal of this release, though not the only one.

What else changed under the hood:
. Database backed crawl engine - writes results to a local SQLite database instead of holding every URL in memory, keeping performance stable past 50,000 pages
. AI visibility scoring - checks whether a page states a plain answer near the top, whether its FAQ and how to markup is valid, and whether it names an author, returning a score out of 100 with a list of fixes
. Offline audit mode - scans local HTML, PHP, or ASP files for broken links, missing styles, or dead scripts before a site goes live
. Pause and resume - long crawls can be interrupted and picked back up later instead of restarting from scratch

"We heard the same thing from a lot of Mac and Linux shops: they liked what the tool did, they just could not install it," said a spokesperson for KWT Spider. "Version 3.0 fixes that, and since we were already rebuilding the core engine to get there, we used the opportunity to make it handle bigger sites and read pages more like an AI system would."

The release keeps the software's existing set of more than 29 report tabs, three crawl modes, and automatic llms generation. A free demo is capped at 250 URLs per session with exports disabled; the paid license removes that cap and adds save and resume, full report exports, and complete AI visibility scoring.
