Air Defense Forces Down 128 Drones Used By Russia To Attack Ukraine Overnight


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) According to Ukrinform, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Telegram.

Starting at 18:00 on Friday, September 4, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles launched from Russia's Rostov and Voronezh regions, as well as 167 Shahed combat drones (about half of them jet-powered), Gerbera drones, and Parodiya-type decoy drones launched from the directions of Oryol, Millerovo, Kursk, temporarily occupied Donetsk, and Hvardiiske in temporarily occupied Crimea.

The air attack was repelled by Ukrainian fighter aircraft, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, drone-system units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces.

According to preliminary data, as of 8:30 on Saturday, September 5, Air Defense Forces had shot down or suppressed 128 drones.

Hits by missiles and attack drones were recorded at 23 locations, while debris from downed targets fell at one location.

In addition, some of the weapons failed to reach their targets; information about them is still being clarified.

The attack is ongoing, with enemy drones still present in Ukrainian airspace.

As Ukrinform reported, four people were killed and five others injured in a Russian attack on Kamianske in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
