Bosnia Police Arrest 96 Illegal Migrants, Including 18 Afghans
According to Financial Express, the first incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon in the Bistrica area, where police detained 63 people.
The group consisted of 40 Pakistani and 23 Bangladeshi nationals, the report said.
Police said they searched the area on the orders of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, seized two boats and identified two people suspected of migrant smuggling.
In a separate incident, police in the same area intercepted 33 people who were allegedly attempting to cross the border illegally.
The group included 18 Afghan nationals, 13 Bangladeshi nationals and two Pakistani nationals.
Bosnia and Herzegovina's Border Police said the Banja Luka regional office of the Service for Foreigners' Affairs had been notified of the incident. An investigation into the cases is ongoing.
