War Update: 236 Clashes On Front Line Over Past Day, Pokrovsk And Kostiantynivka Sectors Remain Hottest

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in an operational update as of 8:00 on September 5, according to Ukrinform.

The enemy launched 87 airstrikes, dropping 317 guided aerial bombs. In addition, Russian forces used 10,816 kamikaze drones and carried out 2,723 shelling attacks, including 22 using multiple-launch rocket systems.

In the Sumy region, the settlements of Sopych, Baranivka, Neskuchne, Korenok, Potapivka, Mohrytsia, Kucherivka, Iskryskivshchyna, Rohizne, Hirky, Bachivsk, and Volfyne came under artillery fire.

Ukrainian Defense Forces aviation, missile forces and artillery struck 11 clusters of Russian personnel, four guns and artillery positions, one UAV command post, one air defense system, and another important enemy target.

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, three Russian assault actions took place. Russian forces carried out 168 shelling attacks and launched four strikes using 13 guided aerial bombs.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, Ukrainian units repelled 12 Russian attacks. The invaders attempted to advance toward Loshakove, Okhrimivka, Chuhunivka, Zarubynka, Izbytske, and Lyman, as well as near Starytsia.

In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy launched 11 assaults, attempting to advance toward Radkivka, Kivsharivka, Dovhenke, Kurylivka, and Kupiansk.

In the Lyman sector, Russian forces attacked nine times, advancing toward Shyikivka, Drobysheve, and Lyman, as well as near Dibrova and Novoselivka.

In the Sloviansk sector, Russian troops launched six assaults near Ozerne, Rai-Oleksandrivka, and Kryva Luka.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian forces conducted one offensive action toward Nykonorivka.

In the Kostiantynivka sector, 21 enemy attacks were recorded. The invaders conducted assault operations near Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, Rusyn Yar, Sofiivka, and Nove Shakhove, as well as toward Pavlivka, Vilne, and Stepanivka.

The enemy launched 40 attacks in the Pokrovsk sector, attempting to advance toward Bilytske, Novyi Donbas, Shevchenko, Matiashеve, Serhiivka, Myrne, and Novopavlivka, as well as near Udachne and Molodetske.

Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled two Russian attacks in the Oleksandrivka sector near Novoheorhiivka and Nove Zaporizhzhia.

In the Huliaipole secto r, Russian forces attacked 13 times, attempting to advance toward Dobropillia, Vozdvyzhivka, Kopani, Verkhnia Tersa, Huliaipilske, Tsvitkove, and Charivne.

In the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian defenders stopped four attempts by Russian forces to advance near Mala Tokmachka, Stepnohirsk, and Shcherbaky.

No Russian offensive actions were recorded in the Dnipro River sector.

No signs of Russian forces forming offensive groupings were detected in the Volyn and Polissia sectors.

As reported by Ukrinform, total Russian combat losses since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, through September 5, 2026, amount to approximately 1,495,050 personnel.
