Türkiye Refutes Reports of SDF-Affiliated Foreigners Entering Country
(MENAFN) Türkiye’s National Defense Ministry rejects claims that foreign elements linked to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) are preparing to leave Syria and enter Türkiye.
The ministry says it is closely following the SDF’s dissolution process, with the aim of supporting Syria’s territorial integrity and advancing the principle of "one state, one army."
"In this context, claims that foreign elements affiliated with SDF will leave Syria and that some of them will come to Türkiye do not reflect the truth," the ministry says.
“It is important that reports and comments on the matter other than our official statements not be given credence.”
The ministry also addresses Türkiye’s planned acquisition of Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft from the UK to meet the Turkish Air Force’s operational needs. It says pilot training for the aircraft begins in August, with Eurofighter pilots scheduled to start flight training on Sept. 7, followed by a three-month instructor pilot training program.
