Aselsan Expands Precision Munition Options for Akinci Drone
(MENAFN) Turkish defense company Aselsan unveils a broader lineup of precision-guided munitions designed for Baykar’s Akinci unmanned combat aircraft, expanding the drone’s strike capabilities.
The company says its Tolun “deep-strike munition family” is designed to conduct accurate attacks across different operational environments. The expanded lineup includes three variants tailored to different targets and mission requirements.
The Tolun I uses an impact fuze combined with a fragmentation warhead, while the Tolun F features a proximity sensor paired with a fragmentation warhead.
The Tolun P is equipped with a programmable time fuze and a penetration warhead intended for use against hardened targets.
“Whenever, wherever, however we want,” Aselsan said in a social media post highlighting the three munitions integrated with the Akinci drone.
Aselsan CEO Ahmet Akyol says cooperation between the two Turkish defense companies will strengthen precision-strike capabilities while delivering significant destructive effects on the battlefield.
“The Tolun family continues to offer superior precision and high impact under all conditions with its diversifying capabilities,” Akyol said.
“With the multiplier effect of serial production, these capabilities will continue to be game-changing in the skies,” he added.
