Kuwait Denounces Iranian Strikes as Security Risks Grow

(MENAFN) Kuwait strongly condemns Iranian attacks against its territory on Wednesday, warning that continued strikes could endanger the country’s security and stability.

Kuwaiti authorities describe the attacks as a “blatant violation” of the nation’s sovereignty and a direct “threat to its security and stability.”

The government also warns that allowing such attacks to continue would amount to a “serious breach of international law and the UN Charter,” as well as an “explicit violation of UN Security Council Resolution 2817.”

Kuwait says the latest escalation creates a “serious threat to regional security and stability” and could further weaken diplomatic efforts focused on reducing tensions and preventing a wider conflict.

The country reaffirms its “full right to take all necessary measures to safeguard its sovereignty, protect its security and interests, and ensure the safety of its citizens and residents in accordance with international law.”

The condemnation follows an announcement earlier Wednesday by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which says its Ground Force conducts a combined missile and drone assault against the headquarters and accommodation facilities of the US commander at Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait.
