IRGC Aerospace Force Members Among Seven Killed in US Strikes

(MENAFN) Four members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Force are among seven people killed in separate US strikes in western and southern Iran, according to Iranian authorities.

The four Aerospace Force personnel are killed in an American attack in Kermanshah province in western Iran, according to a statement from the provincial IRGC branch.

In a separate overnight strike on Lavan Island in southern Hormozgan province, three members of the Basij paramilitary force, which is affiliated with the IRGC, are also killed, according to reports.

The three Basij members are identified as Mahdi Bahrani, Hossein Salehnejad and Hassan Momeni. Their identities are announced by Abdolkarim Pouladifar, deputy commander of the IRGC’s Seyyed al-Shohada unit in Deyr County.

Pouladifar also says several other personnel from Deyr are wounded in the attack.

Lavan Island lies off Iran’s southern coastline in Hormozgan province and hosts a number of oil and energy installations, making it an important location for the country’s energy sector.
