IGP Reviews Security Ahead Of Kashmir Int'l Film Festival
The meeting focused on strengthening security arrangements and ensuring comprehensive preparedness for the smooth and secure conduct of the festival, a police spokesperson said.
ADVERTISEMENTThe IGP reviewed the overall security preparedness, deployment plans and arrangements being put in place for the event. Detailed discussions were held on venue security, deployment of personnel, access control, surveillance, crowd management, traffic regulation, emergency response mechanisms and inter-agency coordination.
Kumar stressed the need for adequate and strategically planned deployment at all identified venues, keeping in view the expected movement and gathering of visitors, participants, dignitaries and other stakeholders.
ADVERTISEMENTHe also directed officers to ensure thorough route clearance and appropriate deployment of Road Opening Parties (ROPs) along designated routes to facilitate secure and uninterrupted movement during the festival.

The IGP also emphasised the need for appropriate traffic management plans to ensure smooth vehicular movement and minimise inconvenience to the public.
He directed that adequate personnel be deployed at vulnerable and congested points and stressed close coordination among all concerned agencies to ensure effective management of security and traffic arrangements throughout the festival.
The International Film Festival of Jammu and Kashmir is scheduled to take place from September 7 to 10, with the security agencies gearing up to ensure the event is conducted smoothly and securely.
