(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reported this, according to Ukrinform.

“The Foreign Minister welcomed the American diplomat on the start of his work in Ukraine, wished him success, and expressed hope for fruitful joint efforts to further strengthen the Ukrainian-American strategic partnership,” the ministry said.

The parties discussed ongoing diplomatic efforts to achieve a comprehensive and lasting peace.

The minister emphasized the importance of continued active U.S. involvement in the peace process.

“Particular attention was paid to strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities and increasing sanctions pressure on Russia,” the ministry added.

Sybiha stressed the need for further decisive steps that would raise the cost of Russia's continued war and limit its ability to finance and sustain its aggression.

“The parties also discussed the development of mutually beneficial economic cooperation, energy security, and the situation in the Black Sea,” the ministry added.

The Ukrainian Foreign Minister emphasized the importance of ensuring freedom of navigation and protecting maritime routes that are critical to global food security.

Sybiha also thanked the United States for its support for Ukraine and reaffirmed his commitment to further strengthening the Ukrainian-American strategic partnership.
