Trump Sends Witkoff And Kushner To Moscow, Kyiv With Proposal To End War
Asked whether Witkoff and Kushner would bring new proposals with them, Trump said:“They're bringing with them a proposal to end the war.”
The President also said he hoped the diplomatic efforts would succeed, emphasizing that Witkoff and Kushner are“two great negotiators.”
“We sent them over to see whether there's enough to get something done. And maybe there's a good chance we will do,” Trump said.
He once again said he believes personal animosity between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin is one of the obstacles to ending the war.
“There is a personality problem in Russia and Ukraine. You have President Zelensky and President Putin. They truly hate each other. You know what hate is? They have serious hate, and it's getting in a way of them,” Trump said.
According to him, Russia and Ukraine have lost a combined 32,000 servicemen over the past month alone.
“They're losing an average of 25,000 soldiers a month. It's got to be settled,” Trump said.
At the same time, the president expressed his belief that Putin does not intend to attack NATO territory.
“I don't think Putin will do it. I speak to him. I know him very well. Putin is not looking to attack NATO territory,” he said.
