General Staff Confirms Two Major Russian Oil Refineries Halted Operations After Strikes


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) According to Ukrinform, the General Staff said this in a Facebook post.

"Following an analysis of additional data, it has been confirmed that the Lukoil-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez LLC oil refinery in Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod region, Russia, halted operations as a result of the strike carried out on August 26, 2026," the statement said.

The General Staff also confirmed that the Novatek-Ust-Luga complex in Slobodka, Leningrad region, Russia, had halted operations.

According to the statement, the following facilities at the site were hit on September 1:

  • pipelines between the oil dispatch pumping station and storage tanks, with an oil product spill covering an area of 200 square meters;
  • a primary gas condensate processing unit;
  • two columns of the hydrocracking unit.

In addition, a pipeline in the tank farm caught fire, with oil products spilling over an area of 250 square meters.

According to the General Staff, both facilities are involved in meeting the needs of the Russian armed forces.
