Kenya: Ministry Engages Softcare Group On Maternal And Newborn Health Partnership
Principal Secretary for Medical Services Dr Ouma Oluga this evening held discussions with Softcare Group, led by Country Managing Director Tom Li, on potential collaboration to advance maternal and newborn health under the Every Woman Every Newborn Everywhere (EWENE) Campaign.
The engagement explored opportunities to strengthen health awareness, health literacy and dignity support for vulnerable mothers and adolescent girls, in line with the Government's commitment to ensuring that no mother or newborn is left behind.
Dr Oluga outlined the maternal care interventions being implemented by the Ministry of Health through EWENE, alongside sustained engagement with health facilities and communities to improve maternal and newborn health outcomes across the country.
He emphasised the importance of partnerships that respond holistically to the health and dignity needs of mothers, newborns and adolescent girls, particularly among vulnerable communities.
The Principal Secretary welcomed Softcare Group's participation in upcoming EWENE field engagements and awareness activities, including support through sanitary pads and diapers.
The proposed collaboration will strengthen coordinated action on maternal, newborn and adolescent health while contributing to the realisation of Universal Health Coverage.
