Gomal University-Affiliated Colleges Under Scrutiny Over Record Irregularities
According to details, the Higher Education Authority reviewed the academic records of private colleges during an assessment and physical inspection, identifying several shortcomings. The inspection revealed irregularities in the admission, registration, attendance and examination records of private colleges affiliated with Gomal University.
The Higher Education Authority has requested the Higher Education Department to investigate the affairs of Gomal University and the private colleges. Following this, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Higher Education Department raised the matter with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and sent a letter to the HEC chairman.
In the letter, the department requested a comprehensive review of the affiliation of private colleges with Gomal University, as well as their geographical jurisdiction.

The Higher Education Department has also called for complete verification of the degrees, admissions and examinations of students enrolled in private colleges affiliated with Gomal University. It recommended a ban on new admissions to unregistered private colleges and programmes until the situation is clarified.
The department further recommended conducting verification tests to assess the eligibility of graduates whose academic records are suspicious or incomplete.
Meanwhile, the provincial government has decided to inspect all private affiliated colleges to ensure transparency and maintain educational standards in the higher education system.
Provincial Minister for Higher Education Meena Afridi has made it clear that no compromise will be tolerated on the quality of higher education in the province.
