Moscow And Region Under Drone Attack Since Midnight

According to posts on Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin's Telegram channel, the number of drones shot down while approaching Moscow since midnight on September 3 has reached 116.

He did not specify the locations or directions in which the drones were downed.

In the morning, Moscow Region Governor Andrei Vorobyov also reported a massive overnight drone attack, saying that the settlements of Kubinka in the west of the region and Pavlovsky Posad in the east were among those affected.

According to an OSINT analysis by the ASTRA Telegram channel, a building on Naro-Fominskoye Highway in Kubinka that was damaged after being hit by a UAV is located approximately 5 kilometers from Kubinka airbase.

In the village of Bolshoye Bunkovo in the Bogorodsky district in the east of the region, a drone struck the premises of a factory, causing a fire, Vorobyov said without naming the enterprise. The area is also home to several military training grounds.

Overall, according to Russia's Defense Ministry, air defense forces shot down 416 UAVs overnight. The drones were downed over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kaluga, Tver, Smolensk, Kursk, Oryol, Tula, Voronezh, Lipetsk, Tambov, Rostov, Volgograd and Penza regions, the Moscow region, the temporarily occupied Crimea and the Black Sea.

As reported by Ukrinform, Moscow's Vnukovo and Sheremetyevo airports suspended operations for the second consecutive night, from September 2 to 3, following warnings from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that Russian airspace is not safe for civil aviation.
